COURSE OBJECTIVE

Since the release of the Occupational Safety and Health (Safety and Health Committee) regulations, 1996, many industries have geared up to have a good and effective functioning of safety and health committee (SHC).

A good understanding in Occupational Safety Health (OSH) related legislations and risk assessment allows an organization to narrow down the areas that are significant to safety and health matters within the organization.

With proper system set up, the occupational safety and health management system (OSHMS) in the organization can have a better management in terms of workplace inspection and handling of incidents. Application of process approach to have continual improvement of the system has led reduction in safety and health issues. All these are highly depending on the capability of the safety and health committee.
