OBJECTIVE

This two-day training is about managing the environmental management system (EMS) documentation system in the most effective and efficient manner.

It introduces the basic principles of Environmental Management and the way in which EMS documentation can be simplify and manageable and can be controlled and continuously improved within the framework of the ISO 14001 Environmental Management Systems Model.

COURSE CONTENT

This training combines presentation and lectures with structured exercises, resulting in a highly participative programme with the majority of time spent in practical activities.

DAY – ONE

• Overview of Environmental Management

Objective: to promote the awareness of environmental concerns, highlight some of the environmental problems

• ISO 14000 Development and Structure

Objective: to highlight the background and development of ISO 14000 series of standards

• EMS Planning documentation analysis and improvement

Objective: to understand the EMS planning, including the requirement of establishment and implementation of

• Aspect impact documentation
• Legal requirements documentation
• environmental objectives, targets and programs

DAY – TWO

• EMS Implementation and Operation documentation analysis and improvement

Objective: to understand the EMS Implementation and maintenance requirements, including resources provision, structure and responsibility, EMS documentation and operational control

• Checking and Corrective Action documentation analysis and improvement

Objective: to understand the needs of monitoring and measurement of EMS performance, and the necessary action required for eliminating or mitigating environmental impact

• Management Review and Improvement

Objective: the understand the needs of review EMS performance to look for continual improvement

• Implementing and Documenting the System

Objective: to learn how to implement and document the EMS
